Lucapa Diamond Company and its partners, Empresa Nacional de Diamantes E.P. (Endiama) and Rosas & Petalas, have completed the fifth sale for 2017 of alluvial diamonds from the Lulo Diamond Project in Angola.

The sale of 1,236 carats of Lulo diamonds achieved gross proceeds of US$0.95 million (A$1.25 million), representing an average price per carat of US$770 (A$1,013) per carat. The sale brought gross proceeds from Lulo diamond sales to date in 2017 to US$15.4 million (A$20.3 million) at an average price per carat of US$1,620 (A$2,132).

As with the previous sale, the diamonds from the latest sale parcel were sourced primarily from Mining Block 28. Mining has since returned to higher-value Mining Blocks 8 and 6 following the end of the Angolan wet season.
