KGK manufacturing facility at Angola

KGK announced the opening of its high-tech diamond cutting and polishing factory in Angola, launched by Honorable Minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Diamantino.

Speaking at the Inauguration, Mr. Azevedo said, “Angola is an extremely rich country in mining. With great economic potential, the region is not only the third-largest producer of diamonds but also has one of the largest and most diversified mining resources in Africa.

The Ministry is working closely with efficient enterprises to devise a plan to increase investments which will further lead to increased employment generation in the country and especially in Angola. Thanks to KGK group for their initiative to work on exploration and impart knowledge about the huge potential of the country. We will always support such initiatives. Best Wishes”

The new KGK factory, in partnership with SODIUM, incorporates the latest and highly developed technologies. The advancement is yet another manifestation of the natural progression of KGK’s global manufacturing operations already spread across India, Russia, South Africa, Botswana and Namibia.

Mr. Sandeep Kothari, Managing Director KGK, stated, “Angola is currently witnessing a paradigm shift realising the progressive vision of the Hon’ble President. KGK’s initiative is also aligned with the same, actively contributing to investments and employment opportunities thereby adding value to the regional economy.

We will be investing US$ 25 Million in our operations here to manufacture 8000 Cts per month, creating more than 200 workplaces. We further aim to bring with us the required knowledge base and skill set for setting up the manufacturing facility. Training the Angolan workforce and making them self-sustainable is our yet another objective. We intend to craft an ecosystem that promises growth of diamond industry at large.”

In addition, KGK following its core principle of nurturing aptitude further supports the drive-by pouring investments into fostering job-relevant entrepreneurial and innovation skills, addressing the ever-burgeoning talent essential in the diamond sector.
