Jewelry for Brides 2021

Amid postponed celebrations and new proposals, next year’s weddings are already being planned. For brides-to-be, the jewellery trend mainly defers to the body rather than the more classic necklace, adorning the shoulders and neckline to extend the wedding dress onto the back and shoulders.

Focus is also on a new way of wearing both micro and maxi pearls, either processed or engraved: the classic necklace moves aside to make room for coloured semi-precious or diamond clasps in a blaze of designs and emerging designers such as Sophie Billie Brahe or Beck.

For the bride, 2021 will also see choker-mania with jewelled versions like those by Alessandra Rich, and extra-long necklaces, perfect for plunging necklines and V-necks both in front and down the back (see Fernando Jorge or Mizuki). Love and hearts are included in proposals by Isabel Lennse or Irene Neuwirth who make these symbols the main feature of the bride’s precious look.

This minimal necklace, ideal for discrete necklines, does not steal attention from the dress. Lastly, the delicate, precious and ever-important light source, whether with tiny pearls, iconic diamonds or even coloured stones, gives the wedding dress originality and provides the wedding party with personality.
