Christie’s Important Jewels auction on July 30
Recently Worldwide, Christie’s Jewels announces the global sales calendar in a series for July 2020 to include live and online auctions in all major sale sites spanning Geneva, Hong Kong, London, New York, and Paris. Here is the London auction’s information.
A total of nine auctions are planned, five live, and four online, beginning with Jewels Online in New York (16-30 June) and ending with Important Jewels in London (30 July). The global sales will collectively feature over 1,000 jewels, including a significant selection of colorless diamonds, colored diamonds, and rare gemstones, along with signed creations by Belperron, Bulgari, Cartier, Graff, Harry Winston, JAR, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, and Verdura, with estimates ranging from $5,000 to $8m.
Christie features a group of important antique jewels including four tiaras and other items with royal and aristocratic provenance as well as a wide array of signed contemporary jewels, natural pearls and diamonds, and colored stones.
Presenting over 200 lots, with estimates ranging from £2,000 to £420,000, highlights include a fine Kashmir sapphire and diamond ring of 9.11 carats (£420,000-580,000), an early 20th-century diamond tiara, attributed to Cartier (£200,000-300,000), a Colombian emerald and diamond ring of 10.34 carats (£40,000-60,000) and a late 19th-century natural pearl and diamond tiara (£25,000-35,000).
