“Swarnotsav” welcomed with high enthusiasm by industry.

Despite a rich 5000-year-old history, the Gems and Jewelry industry has faced difficult days due to the present situation. However, All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) has found this great new way to conduct business through the Virtual format.

GJS Virtual is an annual B2B initiative with 6 unique exhibitions, “Swarnotsav”, lined up through the year with various features that will bridge the gap between the sellers and the buyers.

With the grace of Shri Mahalaxmi, the doors to GJS Virtual are open from 1st October and over 500 meetings have already taken place.

GJS Virtual is currently hosting 49 exhibitors who are few of the finest names in the industry. The exhibitors representing various categories are already live on the portal and are ready to launch their latest collections for the upcoming festive season.

With over 5000 registered visitors, GJC advices them to go through the designs of the participants and make the best use of the first exhibition of 2020, post the pandemic.

The first edition, “SWARNOTSAV 1” is scheduled from 5th to 10th October, 2020.

The Inaugural Ceremony of Swarnotsav on Oct 5, 2020 was a star-studded affair with the who’s who of the industry blessing the inauguration. The event was blessed with the presence of Shri Sanjay Dhotre ji, who is the Union Minister of State for Education, Communication, and Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, as the chief guest.

Few GJC stalwarts who were present at the inauguration are N Anantha Padmanaban (Chairman, GJC), Saiyam Mehra (COA, GJC & Co-convener, GJS), Ashok Minawala (Past Chairman, GJC & GJS Committee Member), Nitin Khandelwal (IPC, GJC & GJS Committee Member), Ashish Pethe (Zonal Chairman West, GJC & GJS Committee Member) and Vijay Khanna (Zonal Chairman North, GJC). The ceremony also witnessed the presence of few of the top retailers of the country like Sunil Nayek (Reliance Jewels), Saurabh Gadgil (PNG Jewellers) & Siddharth Shah (Chandukaka Saraf & Sons) from the west, Suvankar Sen (Senco Gold & Diamonds) & Suvro Chandra (P.C. Chandra & Sons) from the east, Rajan Rastogi (Jugal Kishore Jewellers) from the north and Rajesh Kalyanaraman (Kalyan Jewellers), Joy Alukkas (Joyalukkas India Pvt. Ltd.), G.R. ‘Anand’ Ananthapadmanabhan (GRT Jewellers) and O Asher (Malabar Gold & Diamonds) from the south.

Swarnotsav is dedicated to Late Shri Shaankar Sen (Vice Chairman, GJC & Convener, GJS) who was not just a great industrialist but a better leader and visionary for the gem and jewellery industry.

Swarnotsav marks the beginning of a new digital era in the gem and jewellery industry which will surely open new doors to growth and prosperity in the days to come.
