Surat Diamond Expo 15-16-17 July 2022

Surat (Gujarat) [India]: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and his cabinet ministers will remain present on the inaugural day of the third edition of the Carats-Surat Diamond Expo to be held at Gujarat’s leading lifestyle club, Avadh Utopia on the Surat-Dumas Road for three-long days starting from July 15.

CM Bhupendra Patel and cabinet ministers including PurneshModi, Harsh Sanghavi, VinuMoradia, Mukesh Patel, etc. Union Commerce Minister PiyushGoyal is likely to visit the expo along with Union Minister for State for Railways and Textile, DarshanaJardosh on the inaugural day of the Carats—Surat Diamond Expo on July 15.

A delegation of Surat Diamond Association (SDA) led by its president NanuVekariya visited Gandhinagar on Tuesday for giving a personal invitation to the cabinet ministers and CM Bhupendra Patel. The delegation members met Gujarat CM and urged him to remain present on the inaugural day of the Carat—Surat Diamond Expo on July 15.

"Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other cabinet and state ministers have given their consent to remain present at the Carat—Surat Diamond Expo on July 15, " said NanuVekariya, president of SDA. This is the third successful edition, where buyers from India and abroad will be able to view loose diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, jewellery, and cutting-edge diamond machinery.

The B2B exhibition will be providing an exclusive platform for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to showcase loose natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds along with jewellery and machinery to the buyers and connoisseurs from India and throughout the world and taking their businesses to new heights.

Following the tremendous success of the past two Carats exhibitions in 2018 and 2019, this year's Carats exhibition will increase B2B transactions through networking between small and large firms and reinforce Surat’s status as the hub for diamond trading in the international market.

This platform will provide small and medium-sized diamantaires with enough opportunity to engage with new buyers of natural loose diamonds and diamonds such as rose-cut, polki, natural fancy-colored, etc.

A networking dinner for the Carats—Surat Diamond Expo was organized in Surat, which was attended by over 350 people from the gems and jewellery industry including the exhibitors on May 30. Some of the stalwarts of the Indian diamond industry including GovindDholakia chairman of Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), Padma ShriMathurSavani, VallabhLakhani chairman, Dinesh Navadiya regional chairman of Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) remained present and boosted the morale of the exhibitors and the industry people.

GouravSethi, convenor of the Carats—Surat Diamond Expo said, “All the booths at Avadh Utopia have been booked. There are a total of 115 booths for exhibiting natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, jewellery, and diamond machinery”. “Roadshows were planned to promote Carats diamond exhibition in over 40 locations in India, as well as targeting buyers from the United States, London, Dubai, and Hong Kong.”

The SDA office-bearers stated that the privileged buyers from India and abroad will be provided complimentary hotel accommodation. The buyers from foreign countries will have to register on the official website of the SDA. Registration for the exhibitors and visitors is open on www.sdasurat.org.
