H.E. Mr. Mike Hankey, US Consul General

The US Consul General in Mumbai, Mr. Mike Hankey, along wih Mr. Andrew Caruso, Economic Officer, Mr. David Pasquini, Commercial officer and other officials from US Consul Visited the Bharat Diamond Bourse on 23rs Jan 2023. President of the Bourse Mr. Anoop Mehta, Vice President Mr. Mehul Shah along with other members welcomed the guest.

Mr. Anoop Mehta briefed the dignitaries on the history, security systems & state of the art Infrastructure of the bourse. He also discussed the impact of Global Diamond Trade that is being witnessed currently due to the changing political & economical landscape.

Mr. Mehul Shah, Vice President BDB

Mr. Mehul Shah Vice President spoke on the strong relationship that then Indian gem & jewellery sector shares with the US & opined on strengthening the bond with time.He also requested the Consul General to look at the hurdles regarding “US Visa Process “that is being faced by the industry members travelling to the US for conducting business & participating in Exhibitions.

H.E.Mr. Hankey took an escorted tour of the Bourse & appreciated the state of the art infrastructure & cutting edge security systems that has been implemented within the bourse. He also assured BDB that he would look into US Visa processing issues related to Diamond Industry members travelling to US & try to solve the same at the earliest.
