Buccellati Launches Master's Degree In Goldsmith Arts

Buccellati and the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana have created a Master’s degree course in Goldsmith Arts for individuals who aspire to become expert artisans in the goldsmithing industry. This course is specifically designed to impart the skills and expertise required to create exquisite and unique pieces of jewellery in the typical Buccellati workmanship style.

The course is divided into four 130-hour units, each specialising in a specific area of goldsmithing, such as embossing, chiselling, engraving, and microscope encasing. These units are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of each aspect of the goldsmithing craft.

The selection process for students attending the Scuola is stringent, ensuring that only the most talented and dedicated individuals are chosen to participate in the Master’s course. The top six students on the course are rewarded with a study grant from Buccellati and a position at its workshops, providing an invaluable opportunity to learn from and work alongside some of the most skilled artisans in the industry.

By supporting the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana in creating this Master’s degree in Goldsmith Arts course, Buccellati aims to not only preserve the Italian Renaissance tradition of goldsmithing, but also ensure that future generations have access to the knowledge and skills required to continue this legacy. This partnership is an excellent example of a company taking social responsibility to support the art and craft industry and invest in future talent.
