IIGJ promotes innovation in Jewellery

Inauguration of innovation & incubation center at IIGJ Tardeo

On Monday, 21st January 2019 Members of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) &Board of Directors of Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Mumbai gathered with students, faculty & esteemed guests to celebrate another milestone of IIGJ Mumbai’s accomplishment- “Inauguration of Innovation & Incubation Center at IIGJ Tardeo”.

The Innovation & Incubation center is being established to foster a culture of research and entrepreneurship amongst the student community who have undergone a Jewellery study program at any of the IIGJ’S. One of the main objectives behind setting up this center is to promote innovation in Jewellery by creating an ecosystem that is conducive for the growth of starts-ups in the country.

The presence of Chief Guest - Mr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Founder &Chairman – Rosy Blue Group of companies, IIGJ Mumbai Chairman – Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Board of Directors – Mrs. Namita Pandya, Mr. Sanjay Kothari – Chairman – GJSCI, Mr. Shishir Nevatia, Mr. Nirmal Kumar Barmecha & Head of the Institute - Mr. Sanjoy Ghosh graced the occasion.

The Inauguration ceremony commenced with traditional auspicious lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries with Saraswati vandana. Mr. Kirit Bhansali welcomed the gathering with the words of wisdom and appreciation. Mrs. Namita Pandya and Mr. Kirit Bhansali welcomed the chief guest Mr. Arun Kuman Mehta by presenting a bouquet of flowers and a Memento.

Ms. Monica Jhaveri - HoD – IIGJ Tardeo shared an overview of various Jewellery courses conducted at IIGJ Tardeo and also achievements of the students. Mr. Sanjoy Ghosh – Head of the Institute enlighten us with the objectives & vision of Innovation & Incubation center – IIGJ Tardeo.

Mrs. Namita Pandya expressed her thoughts & vision about the center; she also appreciated all the members for their hard work and diligence for making the incubation center dream to come true. Institute also acknowledged the Success and Achievement of the Students by their Sustained Hard work, Perseverance and Dedication by awarding them trophies & certificates of excellence.

Mr. Arun Kumar Mehta – Founder & Chairman – Rosy Blue Group of companies congratulated GJEPC & IIGJ for accomplishing the dream of “Jewellery Incubation center” in the city. His words of wisdom and experience made us all feel extremely privileged and honored to have his presence as the chief guest for the event.

The inspirational speech and vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Sanjay Kothari – Director – IIGJ Mumbai.
